After Roe v. Wade was overturned, Wisconsin’s Republican legislators brought back a law from 1849 that was widely interpreted as an abortion ban. Thus, it became difficult and dangerous for her to do her job as an abortion provider and women’s health specialist safely.

She fought tirelessly to bring abortion care back to Wisconsin, so much so that her name is on the judgment in Dane County Circuit Court that restored abortion care to the state, a case that has been appealed and is making its way up to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
