Library System Update Notice
*What’s Happening?*
Nottingham City Libraries is updating its Library Management System (LMS) in November. This system manages your account details, loan history, and our collection of books, and other resources.
*Who Will Be Affected?
*All Nottingham City Library Users.
*When Will This Happen?*
The update will begin on *31 October 2024*.
*What to Expect During the Update:*
* *System Downtime:* Our current LMS will be replaced. There will be about one week of downtime, with the new system coming into effect *8 November*.

*Services Affected During the Update:*
* *eResources* – eBooks, eAudio, eMagazines and eNewspapers (Borrowbox, uLibrary, Libby and Pressreader)*: *If you’re already signed in, you’ll still have access, but you won’t be able to log in to any eResources that require new authentication. "So do sign in ahead of the 30 October to ensure continued access."
* *Internet Management System: *The PC Booking software will be in offline mode. If you’ve used library computers before, you can continue to do so. New users will need assistance from library staff.
* *Reservations and Holds: *You can still borrow books, but placing new reservations or holds won’t be possible during the update. Existing reservations will transfer across into the new system.
* *Stock Ordering: *We won’t be able to order new books for a short time while we set up the new system. Any items not supplied by 20 October will be cancelled, along with any related reservations. We will reorder as soon as possible once the new system is operational.
* *Self Service Kiosks:* You can use the kiosks to check books in and out. However, you won’t have access to your account details, and renewing books is not possible at the kiosks. For renewals, please see a staff member for assistance.
* *Online **Catalogue: *The current online catalogue will be unavailable. The new catalogue will only go live after the system update is complete. During this time it will not be possible to search for items online.

You’ll still be able to borrow books and browse our catalogue, though the new system might look slightly different.
