Your git can help people affected with vision loss

Dear Friend,

In just a few weeks, the Flying Eye Hospital will be headed to its next sight-saving project in Chattogram, Bangladesh—marking the aircraft’s 11th visit since 1985.

With only 950 ophthalmologists, Bangladesh faces daunting challenges in delivering quality eye care to its population of 160 million people. Which is why we’re asking you to give a gift todayYour contribution will help give people like Senowara a second chance at life.

Thirty-five-year-old Senowara is just one of over 1 million Rohingya refugees living in the Cox's Bazar district in Bangladesh. As the world’s largest refugee settlement, Senowara and her family found living in the camp’s basic shelters incredibly difficult. As her eyesight continued to deteriorate while living there—her future looked bleak.

She struggled with everyday tasks due to vision loss and was unable to care for her household like she used to. As a single mother, she was terrified—how would she make sure her son and three daughters were taken care of?

“We didn’t have any earnings. We, the entire family, were fully dependent on relief from different local and international agencies. How could we expect eye treatment?” — Senowara
Senowara heard an announcement that became a beacon of hope for her. The announcement invited people to an eye screening at an Orbis vision center in the camp. There, she was diagnosed with cataracts and received the sight-saving surgery she needed at one of our partner hospitals in the local community.

Will you make a generous gift today to help save sight in Bangladesh and support all of Orbis’s vision-restoring efforts worldwide?

Our goal is to make sure everyone has access to quality eye care, no matter where they live, but we can’t do it without you. Can we count on your support?

Gratefully,
