John,
I live, work, and raise a family in Orange County, California, and apparently, so does Republican Wisconsin Senate candidate Eric Hovde. You read that right: Eric is a wealthy businessman and registered voter in my district, CA-47, but he’s running for Senate in… Wisconsin? 🤔
An elected official is supposed to be a voice for the people we represent. Yet, Eric doesn’t even live in the state he’s running in, much less experience the same challenges of Wisconsin families trying to make ends meet. Washington has enough out-of-touch politicians without ultra-wealthy Eric Hovde in the Senate.
Wisconsin is a must-win state for Democrats’ Senate majority, so I also want to highlight the amazing candidate we have there.
Tammy Baldwin is Wisconsin's incumbent Democratic Senator, and she’s a champion in the fight against special interests. She’s been a leader in the push for banning members of Congress from trading stocks, overturning Citizens United, and stopping the revolving door between Washington and big corporations.
In Wisconsin, we don’t just have the chance to help Democrats hold the Senate; it’s also a key opportunity to re-elect an anti-corruption champion.
This fall, let's send a message that we’re done with out-of-touch businessmen running DC—and that Wisconsin's Senate seat should stay in the hands of a Wisconsinite.
Thanks so much,
Katie Porter
