Last month, Governor Gavin Newsom signed a long list of bills into law to
improve the lives of Californians, and a number of them were sponsored by
our Attorney General!

Check out the legislation Rob sponsored that was passed by both chambers
of the California State Legislature and signed by Gov. Newsom:

* AB 1893: This will facilitate housing production in cities and
counties that fail to adopt a compliant housing element on time, to
help alleviate the affordable housing crisis.
* AB 2319: This will reduce the alarming and disproportionate maternal
mortality rate of Black women and other pregnant persons of color by
ensuring the successful implementation of implicit bias training.
* AB 2432: This will increase penalties for corporate malfeasance, and
use those fines to fund much-needed crime victim service programs.
* AB 2695: This will help address the missing and murdered Indigenous
persons crisis by requiring law enforcement agencies to collect data
on crimes occurring on Indian lands and report that information to the
California Department of Justice.
* AB 3042: This will help our state solve more crime by directing
funding from criminal fines to essential crime-solving DNA services.
* SB 976: This will help protect our children and teens from social
media addiction and adverse mental health effects by requiring
parental consent for social media companies to push algorithmic feeds,
notifications, and other addictive design features to users under the
age of 18.
* SB 1037: This will enhance the Attorney General’s ability to seek
civil penalties in court against local governments that violate state
housing law, helping us better ensure affordable housing for all.
* SB 1061: This will protect consumers from having their credit scores
negatively impacted by medical debt.

Each one of these laws will make a material difference in the lives of
countless Californians.

While Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans threaten to push our country
backward, here in California, we’re consistently delivering progress for
the people thanks to leaders like Rob.
