In Missouri, where there is a total abortion ban even for rape and incest, Missourians for Constitutional Freedom have an amendment on the ballot that would end the state’s ban and ensure that families can make their own decisions.
In Arizona, Arizona for Abortion Access successfully got the Arizona Abortion Access Act on the ballot. Officially to appear on the ballot as Proposition 139, it will protect Arizonans’ reproductive freedoms and put decisions about pregnancy and abortion in the hands of patients and healthcare providers – exactly where they belong.
In Nevada, voters will choose whether or not to amend the state’s constitution and permanently protect the right to abortion — a critical effort against anti-abortion legislators in the state led by Nevadans for Reproductive Freedom.
In Florida, a state with an extreme abortion ban, Floridians Protecting Freedom has fought to put an initiative on the ballot and allow voters to amend the constitution and end Florida's extreme abortion ban, give women and doctors the freedom to make healthcare decisions, and maintain existing parental rights protections in Florida’s constitution.
In Nebraska, another state with a total abortion ban, the Protect Our Rights campaign has a ballot measure that would end the current abortion ban and give patients, families, and doctors the care they need without restrictions.
And in New York, New Yorkers for Equal Rights is fighting to cement the fundamental right to reproductive freedoms in the state constitution so they are permanently protected without political interference. Voting yes on this ballot measure — prop 1 — would also prohibit any government discrimination regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, pregnancy status, disability status, or sexual orientation.
Look, I’m going to keep fighting for Democrats to get a majority in the House, a majority in the Senate, and for Kamala Harris to win the White House so we can pass national abortion protections and prevent Republicans from passing a national abortion ban. At the same time, we also need to keep supporting abortion initiatives in states across the country — if it makes a difference for just one patient, that would be enough.
So if you’re able, please split a donation now between these six coalitions fighting for abortion rights in Missouri, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, Nebraska, and New York. Now is the time to organize and turn out voters, and your support right now will make a huge difference.
Thanks for being part of this,
Elizabeth
