Hi friend, it’s Martin Sheen. You might recognize me as an actor and activist, but today, I’m asking you as a fellow Buckeye to join me in the fight to reelect Sherrod Brown in Ohio. 

Sherrod and I will be on MSNBC with Lawrence O'Donnell tonight to discuss the stakes of this race, but for now, let me tell you why Sherrod Brown is one of my personal heroes:

I grew up in the working-class city of Dayton, Ohio. My parents were immigrants, and my dad worked in a factory to support me and my nine siblings. We were the exact kind of family Sherrod fights for every day in the Senate.

Sherrod has spent his life fighting for the Dignity of Work because, like me, he believes that hard work should pay off for everyone, no matter who you are or what kind of work you do. We need people like Sherrod in office, fighting for our communities. And that's why I'm emailing you today, friend, to personally ask you: 

Will you please chip in $5 or more before midnight tonight to help Sherrod Brown defend his seat in Ohio and keep the Senate blue?

It's important to have a powerful advocate who cares about working families in the Senate. That's Sherrod. He's proved that he's not afraid to go up against big corporations and hold them accountable. But despite all of this, polls show him narrowly trailing his millionaire GOP opponent, Bernie Moreno.

Sherrod’s one of the most vulnerable incumbents on the ballot this election cycle. And even worse, Republicans are spending unprecedented sums to defeat him (making this the most expensive Senate race in history) because they know this race will decide Senate control. But I’m determined to do everything I can to keep his voice in the Senate, friend.

Sherrod's wealthy opponent is doing everything he can to buy this seat. But Sherrod can't write million-dollar checks to his campaign – instead, he’s counting on grassroots supporters like you to stand with him and show your support before his midnight fundraising deadline.
