The COVID-19 pandemic has hit working families hard. To strengthen the economic security and resiliency of families across the country, BPC and the Rockefeller Foundation developed the Blueprint for Empowering Working Families. BPC's Adrienne Schweer and Dr. Anand Parekh also discussed the need to raise awareness of the new paid leave program passed by Congress and the public health risks of opening the economy too soon.

As of the end of April 2020, there were more than 3 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 resulting in over 200,000 deaths worldwide. BPC released recommendations for reopening the nation based on insights from a cross-country analysis of strategies for loosening social distancing measures.

While much of the country has already figured out how to conduct business remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress is moving slowly and erratically to implement plans for how it will operate. BPC's Governance Project released recommendations for Congress to consider as it grapples with this challenge.

BPC launched its Behavioral Health Integration Task Force to improve the integration of primary and behavioral health care to achieve better health outcomes and reduce costs. The task force also released recommendations to quickly address the urgent need to access behavioral health care as our nation faces the COVID-19 pandemic.
