Hi John,
With Election Day just around the corner, we wanted to check in and provide some updates on what Ami Bera has been up to! From the top of the ticket to downballot races, the contrast between the two sides could not be any clearer: Kamala Harris, Ami Bera, and our other Democratic candidates are ready to lead this nation forward, while the other side wants to drag us backwards. From reproductive rights to building a fairer economy, everything is at stake this November — read on below to learn about what’s been happening here in our district!

Our Opponent Refuses to Admit Joe Biden Won in 2020
→ Ami Bera recently debated his opponent at an event organized by KCRA. It was a valuable opportunity to discuss their contrasting views on many issues — but perhaps no question was more illuminating than “who won the 2020 Election?” Our opponent refused to give a clear answer, indicating that she sympathizes with those who have made baseless claims of voter fraud or somehow think that Joe Biden wasn’t legitimately elected. Ami Bera’s answer is clear: Donald Trump lost four years ago, and he’ll lose again on November 5, 2024.
Continued Threats of Government Shutdowns
→ Last month, Representative Bera joined colleagues from both sides of the aisle in passing a continuing resolution to avoid a government shutdown, ensuring all agencies are funded through December 20th. Ami issued a statement reading, “Governing from continuing resolution to continuing resolution is no way to operate Congress. Despite dysfunctional House Republican leadership, I will continue working with responsible lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to pass a full budget that addresses our nation’s most-pressing challenges and provides stability for families, businesses, and communities.”
Repairs at Sacramento’s Mather Airport
→ Ami recently announced over $13 million in new funding to rehabilitate the runway at Sacramento’s Mather Airport. This funding will improve airport safety and ensure Sacramento Country remains a critical aviation hub, while supporting local jobs and our economy.
Press Conference on Bipartisan HERO Act
→ Ami recently held a press conference alongside other advocates to urge the passage of the bipartisan Helping Emergency Responders Overcome (HERO) Act. This legislation will bolster essential mental health resources to our nation’s first responders and health care providers who are at an elevated risk of suicide compared to other professions, and has passed unanimously in the House three times. It’s time for the Senate to take up this crucial legislation to support our veterans and first responders!
