As you may know, since the 2020 election, election workers have faced an unprecedented wave of threats, harassment, and intimidation, all while working tirelessly to serve their communities by administering fair and secure elections. Did you know that women make up nearly 80% of the election workforce across the country? As a result, that means women disproportionately bear the brunt of this wave of attacks on the integrity of our elections.
That’s why I’m proud to share a meaningful new campaign that we just launched with our friends at the States United Democracy Center!
This campaign recognizes the critical contributions of women election officials and builds support for them as we approach November. The campaign stresses the importance of honoring and protecting women election officials – including after Election Day when their work will continue as they count every vote. These unsung heroes play an important role in making our democracy work and ensuring that voters’ voices are heard.
Issue One is the leading crosspartisan political reform group in Washington. We unite Republicans, Democrats, and independents in the movement to fix our broken political system.
