Our 2024 gala is in just one week! We’re excited to share it with you and disability community members and allies from across the country and around the world! Join us virtually for our annual celebration next Wednesday, October 30th! This year’s theme is Grow With Us — in recognition of our growth and a tribute to the power of our grassroots to fight for the rights of our community. Pick your favorite events or join us for the whole evening! We’ll start with two panels featuring self-advocates and allies. The first panel, Sowing Safety: Cultivating Protections and Weeding Out Harmful Policies During the Ongoing Pandemic, will go from 3:00 to 4:45 PM ET and focuses on the continual erosion of pandemic protections, the harm caused by mask bans, and what we can do to support and keep each other safer. The second panel, Digging Deeper: Autism and Mental Health, is from 5:15 to 7:00 PM ET and is all about how the current mental health services and IDD services are failing people with both IDD and mental health disabilities, and what changes we want to see. Make sure to register for the gala in order to join both panels! After our panels, the 2024 Award Ceremony will begin on Youtube at 7:30 PM ET. This year's Award Ceremony will honor several awardees for their tireless work in advocacy, research, community building, and so much more. We’ll also hear remarks by ASAN’s incoming Executive Director Colin Killick! After the award ceremony, we’ll be emailing the winners of our raffle. Make sure you’re registered for the gala in order to be entered! We will be raffling off 2 free year-long ASAN memberships at the Trivia Teammates tier. Gala tickets are on a sliding scale, so you can pay whatever you are comfortable with. We ask that our gala attendees donate if they are able, but no donation will be required to attend our virtual gala events. Proceeds will support our advocacy work and programs for the coming year, and allow us to continue working to empower disabled people across the country. Register now to reserve your spot.
