Email from Zionist Organization of America ZIONIST ORGANIZATION OF AMERICA   Dear Friends and Fellow Zionists, Simchat Torah is a joyous celebration of the Torah – a gift from G-d and a sacred covenant made between Hashem and the People of Israel. Our lives today are part of an eternal cycle in which we, like all the Jews that came before us and all that are yet to be born, read the Torah from start to finish and celebrate each year when the cycle is renewed. Last Simchat Torah was a day of massive destruction. In Jewish faith, each soul is an entire universe. When Hamas brutally took 1,200 innocent lives on October 7, we suffered not from just an attack but the destruction of 1,200 universes. But there were also many survivors with their own stories. One young survivor of the Nova massacre suffered from guilt over being able to live when friends she was there with were not so lucky. However, the mother of one of those friends pushed back and said, “You must dance again. You survived,” explaining that if those who survived never live joyfully again, it’s like we’re losing even more lives. Then it was decided: “We Will Dance Again.” On Simchat Torah, we must dance and celebrate Am Yisrael. We wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday that will shape a beautiful new year. Sincerely, Morton A.
