LCB Action: Alcohol-Related Rulemaking – Emergency Liquor Permits, Proposed Rules for HB 2204

 

On Oct. 23, 2024, during its regularly scheduled meeting the Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) took the following alcohol-related action:

 

Emergency Liquor Permits: Proposed rules filed – Public comment period now open

 

The Board approved a rule proposal (CR 102) to create a new rule in Chapter 314-38 WAC implementing House Bill 2204 (chapter 91, Laws of 2024), now in law as RCW 66.20.010(19). HB 2204 authorizes the LCB to issue emergency liquor permits to liquor manufacturers when they are unable to access their premises or operate due to an emergency or road closure. Public comment is open until the public hearing currently scheduled for Dec. 4, 2024.
