Friends,

If you know me, you know how special my mother is and how deeply she has impacted my journey as a public servant. Her lessons of empathy, leadership, and grace are ones I carry in my head and my heart every day I serve the people of New Jersey in the Senate.

Today I'm thinking about my mother, Carolyn, as well as all the mothers who balance taking care of their families while working, volunteering, marching, voting, and everything in between.

This day is devoted to all of the women out there who are mothers--in biology and spirit--taking care of our kids, our communities, and our country. It's about the love, strength, and sacrifice that women commit their lives to build up others, to being there for scraped knees, broken hearts, professional and personal advice, or just a shoulder to cry on when we need it most.

I know Mother's Day is especially difficult this year -- as many of us can't spend today with our moms in person. But if you have a special woman in your life that you're celebrating today, I'd love to hear about her. Just reply to this email with stories about the mothers in your life -- I look forward to reading them.

Happy Mother's Day, friend -- and to those whose mothers are no longer around, may the day land gently.

Cory
