Friends,

This Mother's Day, I'm celebrating by spending some quality time with my two beautiful daughters. But I'm also doing something to help other moms who might be struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic -- and I'm asking you to join me.

Here's the situation:

The CARES Act provides an emergency relief check to Americans who qualify as well as an additional $500 for each child in a household -- but because of a drafting issue, parents who welcomed a new child in 2020 won't get that payment for another year.

Taking care of a newborn baby is difficult under the best of circumstances. Now, with so many people unemployed or unable to lean on relatives for childcare, it's even harder. New parents need help NOW -- we shouldn't make them wait a year.

That's why I'm introducing a new bill to expedite their payments and get stimulus checks out to new parents immediately. And in honor of Mother's Day, I'm asking you to sign on to this legislation as a citizen co-sponsor. So will you?

Add your name to become a citizen co-sponsor of my new legislation to help new parents access emergency COVID-19 relief funds NOW.

Thanks for your support. And Happy Mother's Day!

All my best,

Tammy
