The lives of reptiles in mobile zoos, reptile markets and the pet trade are beyond unbearable. They exist purely to make a profit and entertain humans. We must take action to end this cruelty!

It's hard to believe that the photograph below, taken at a reptile market, shows animals being kept in such tiny boxes and cruelly waiting to be sold.

Each box contains a live animal, each one a different species of snake, and each an individual. They don’t know where they are, or where they will end up, and they have no choice. 

There is no thought to their needs, no heat lamps, and no water. They are just lying there, as if they are items on a supermarket shelf. 

They don't have enough room to move around, as each box is smaller than a tupperware box you would put your sandwiches in. The snakes at the front of the photograph are being sold for £295, and the paler snakes at the back £125. Is that what their lives are worth?
