You need to see the latest move in the attacks on abortion rights.
A lawsuit against the FDA’s approval of mifepristone (one of the two abortion medications) continues on a path toward the Supreme Court.
But lodged within an update from three anti-choice attorney generals is an argument that is downright chilling.
These AGs are arguing that access to mifepristone via telemedicine has lowered the birth rate among teenage mothers, which causes harm to their states in the form of less federal money and seats in Congress.
In other words, they’re seeking the right to use children as human incubators to advance their political agendas.
And to be clear, if this argument succeeds in this case, we’ll surely see it again in a case against birth control. These radical positions are scary, and they’re a real threat.
That’s why it’s more important than ever to elect pro-choice judges and state legislators who understand reproductive freedom as a foundational right.
