Ever since the 2020 election, we’ve seen Republicans in Congress promoting baseless conspiracy theories about the outcome of the 2020 election, and our election security. These claims have been debunked in court dozens of times, but they still cast doubt about the security of our elections — all to lend credence to Donald Trump’s Big Lie. Let’s be clear: When it comes to keeping our elections and our democracy safe from threats, Republicans are all talk, no action. As a member of the Colorado State Legislature, I passed a law that made Colorado’s elections the most secure and accessible in the country. Because despite what many Republicans may believe, we can keep our elections safe while also expanding access to the ballot box. Free and fair elections are the bedrock of our democracy. But that hasn’t stopped far-right extremists from launching attack after attack on the sacred right to vote. Across the country, we’ve seen Republicans attempt to limit mail-in voting, shorten early voting, eliminate same-day voter registration, and even purge voter rolls. Make no mistake: These actions have nothing to do with protecting our democracy. It’s about suppressing the vote in order to keep themselves in power.
None of us want to wake up on November 6th with an election-denying Congress in charge. So thank you in advance for chipping in and supporting my fight to defend our democracy. Brittany |
