Before I ask for any more support, I want to explain just how close our race is to make sure you understand the stakes.

When you hear pundits talking about battleground states, Virginia doesn’t usually make the list. That means too often Democrats risk taking things for granted here.

Remember, we currently have a Republican governor. It wasn’t long ago that control of Virginia’s state house came down to a tied race. That race — and the majority — was decided by drawing one of two film canisters from a bowl.

Races like mine in Virginia couldn’t be any closer, and nonpartisan experts agree. Cook Political — a major election forecast outlet — just updated our race rating to be a Toss-up.

When the challenges feel steep, I think about those film canisters — and the stark difference in policy outcomes a result like that in this race would have for working families, our freedoms, and our democracy.

After long days on the campaign trail, I remind myself that I refuse to wake up with any regrets on November 6. I will do everything I can today, right now, to make sure that we take back the House from Republicans.

I know you probably did not wake up expecting to make a contribution to my campaign. But it’s going to take all of us, so I’m asking:

Please consider making a donation to help me hold this seat. The House majority is on the line, and this race could be decided by a small handful of votes.

In a race as close as ours, every door knock, every phone call, and every dollar will matter when the votes are counted.

Thank you as always for everything you are doing to support our efforts. Together, we will win.
