We caught up with CNN Product leads, Manav Tanneeru, Allison LeFevre and Rob Esposito to dive in a bit deeper on this brand-new app experience.
What is the new CNN Magic Wall app feature and where can we find it?
Manav: CNN's Magic Wall, first introduced during the 2008 election, has been a key part of our broadcast coverage for years, offering an engaging and dynamic way to visualize real-time results data. Over the years, it’s become synonymous with CNN’s John King, whose deep political knowledge and insight have made the Magic Wall an essential tool for understanding election trends and results. We’ve been working to bring this experience to our digital audience, thinking about how impactful it would be to provide the same rich data in an interactive, easy-to-use format. We're excited to announce that this vision is now a reality for this election cycle. The Magic Wall is now available in a digital version, free on the CNN app for iOS and Android devices. Just download the app on your phone or tablet, and you’ll have access to real-time election results in November, along with analysis and reporting from John and other CNN political experts.
What do you love most about it?
Rob: What I love most about the Magic Wall is how it helps you to dive deeper into key moments throughout the election cycle. Before Election Day, the Road to 270 map highlights the states that could decide the outcome of the presidential election. You can also explore results from past elections to see how voting trends have evolved over time. As polls close on Election Day, the Magic Wall will show live results in every state, district and county. It’s your go-to for the latest vote counts and race projections. And when the dust settles, you can return to the Magic Wall to dig back into the results and learn what factors drove the outcomes.
How do we use it?
Allison: U.S. elections can be complex, but we designed the Magic Wall to be straightforward and easy to navigate. How you choose to use it is entirely up to you.
You can start with your home state and then explore other key races across the country. You decide where to focus. One feature you’ll want to check out is easily comparing data from this November to past elections (like 2020 or 2022), just like John King does on air. By switching the year, you can to see how things have shifted (or not). Finally, as you explore the maps, you can watch or read analysis from CNN’s experts to better understand the dynamics of this election. For extra tips, watch how John King uses the Magic Wall.
Is there anything else our readers should know about CNN’s election coverage this cycle?

We're excited to offer you so many ways to follow live results and analysis — on your TV, our website, smart TV apps and the CNN app. You'll have access no matter where you are on election night.
