John, The Government have announced a full independent review of the water industry.
The day after we projected a clear message to lawmakers on The Houses of Parliament (keep your eyes peeled for the full video tomorrow), the government announced [[link removed]] a full and independent review of the water industry. This will deliver the largest review of the sector since privatisation, looking at both water companies and regulators.
Our CEO Giles Bristow has this to say -
"This review is a now or never moment to deliver the radical reform that will end profiting from pollution and kickstart the revival of our wild waters.
It's time to cut the crap and End Sewage Pollution for good.
Today, we recognise a big step forward in the UK-wide campaign to end sewage pollution, but we also issue a clear warning to government: Water company lobbyists and shady investors will be doing all they can to ensure this review barely skims the surface of this deeply flawed system.
Understand that we are not going to allow this to happen. Like a persistent rash from a waterborne virus, we are going to be all over every step that you and the commission makes, holding you accountable and demanding transformative action.
This starts on the 3rd November when we flood the streets of London in the March for Clean Water. We encourage all water lovers and despisers of dirty money to join us."
