2024, the High Road Strategy Center is supporting state advocates as they work to advance workers' rights, job quality, and equity in response to federal opportunities and investments. The Center's Associate Director, Laura Dresser, serves as the Industrial Policy Fellow for the Economic Policy Institute (EPI), where she provides direct technical assistance and support to state leaders involved in the Worker Power Project of the Economic Analysis and Research Network (EARN) at EPI. Our work particularly focuses on helping states capitalize on the opportunities created by significant federal investments in infrastructure, clean energy, and good jobs. Drawing on decades of experience with unions, workforce development, job quality, and equity, the Center is assisting state partners in shaping a worker-centered economy that fosters dignity and equity for all.

October is National Pedestrian Safety Month, and we're excited to celebrate by highlighting the ten mayors in our 2024 Mayors Institute on Pedestrian Safety (MIPS). This initiative, a collaboration between the Mayors Innovation Project, Smart Growth America, and AARP Livable Communities, empowers mayors to create safer streets in their cities. Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing videos from MIPS mayors on our YouTube channel, showcasing their efforts to improve pedestrian safety. Be sure to visit our website for more updates and learn how MIPS is helping leaders build safer, more walkable communities across the country.
