Hi there,
South Carolina is down to only 2 female legislators in their entire State Senate. That means South Carolina’s laws are being written by 2 women and 44 men.
You may recall the inspiring South Carolina “Sister Senators,” whose bipartisan coalition of 5 female State Senators managed to successfully block their state’s total abortion ban last year. Unfortunately, the Republican members of the “Sister Senator” cohort were unseated in brutal Republican primaries earlier this year as a consequence of their pro-choice stances.
We are writing today to tell you about a woman who is running to be the much-needed 3rd woman in the SC State Senate – and actually has a chance of winning.
If elected, Dr. Octavia Amaechi will become the first Black woman to hold this seat in the South Carolina Senate. There are only 2 weeks left until Election Day. Please chip in a split $20.24 or more contribution between Dr. Amaechi’s campaign and Her Bold Move today and help us chip away at South Carolina’s extreme male majority. →

The race for South Carolina Senate District 12 is a critical contest between Dr. Octavia Amaechi, a first-time candidate and family physician, and Roger Nutt, an extremist, anti-choice politician currently serving and passing dangerous policy in the South Carolina House of Representatives.
Nutt has stated that he supports a ban on abortion with limited exceptions for the life of the mother and no exceptions for rape or incest. In fact, he was a sponsor of the “Human Life Protection Act” – the same bill that motivated the Sister Senators to form their coalition, as they found it to be far too extreme and dangerous for women in their state.
Dr. Amaechi understands the critical importance of comprehensive reproductive health services. She is also dedicated to ensuring that everyone in South Carolina has access to necessary care without financial barriers. She aims to remove obstacles to essential health services, promoting a healthier, more equitable society for all.
As a mother and advocate, Dr. Amaechi is deeply connected to the needs of her district and her state. She will adopt a hands-on, community-driven legislative approach, ensuring that reforms in healthcare, education, and economic growth will benefit everyone. Her expertise and compassion make her the strongest candidate to address this dynamic district's challenges.
Dr. Amaechi represents a fresh perspective, standing in stark contrast to her extremist, anti-woman opponent. There is a clear choice for change – and an opportunity to chip away at the extreme male majority in this abortion ban state’s legislature, But Dr. Amaechi needs our help to reach as many voters as possible before Election Day.
Election Day is only two weeks away. If you believe women deserve equal representation in EVERY state in the U.S., rush support to Dr. Amaechi’s campaign by pitching in a split $20.24 or more contribution today →
