Picture this:

It’s a school day and your teenage son appears to have slept in.

This isn’t his norm, so you shake off your irritation as you walk up the stairs to wake him up.

“Up and at  ’em!” you call brightly as you knock on his door.

There’s no answer. You frown and try again, knocking louder. Finally, you push open the door.

And that’s when you find him.

Dead on his bed.

You scream. Longer and louder than you’ve ever screamed before. So loud that your husband comes running. And then he’s screaming too.

This is a nightmare no parent wants to even imagine. But for far too many parents, it’s not imaginary. It’s real.

Numerous children have died as a result of the harms they encounter on social media.

Whether it’s dying by suicide after being sextorted by predators, trying a risky social media “challenge” and not surviving the attempt, or anything else … the truth is, online dangers are killing our children.

There is a solution: It’s called the Kids Online Safety Act.  

The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) is the most comprehensive child protection legislation currently pending before Congress. It would require social media companies to design their products in a way that keeps children safe.

But Big Tech is lobbying against this bill. And we need funding to fight back.

Big Tech is a multi-trillion dollar industry. To go toe-to-toe with them, we need to be equipped with resources.

Which is why, standing alongside grieving parents, I beg you:

Investigative reports from The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and the NYPost have all revealed how tech companies are lobbying to stall KOSA. We can’t let them succeed.

Delaying could mean more deaths. More children whose radiant futures are cut short. More parents with gaping, bleeding holes in their heart they can never mend. 

We’re too late to save the children who have already died … we can’t be too late for even more.
