Recent reports indicate that 33 million people have filed for unemployment since mid-March. The unemployment rate is 14.7%, or 1 out of every 7 people.

As this New York Times headline says, it's literally off the charts.

Tens of millions of Americans have lost their jobs and need actual, tangible relief right now. But Congressional leadership isn't showing any sense of urgency. We don't even know when the House will be back in session.
