"I voted for you today!"

That's the message I've personally received dozens of times today, as early voting in Wisconsin began.

It's hard to describe how humbling it is to hear people say they want ME to be their representative in the House. Sure, I've been making the case on why I think I'm right for the job for over a year.

But now are the moments when what was an idea… a hope… starts transforming into something real.

It's not just people telling me at town halls, at their doors, or on the phone that I can count on their vote. It's the real act of filling out that little bubble next to my name and returning that ballot to officially be counted.

It's all led up to this. We have just 14 days left to make the case that I'm the best champion for the families of WI-08. Pitch in $10 — or more — to turn what started as a hope into reality.

I never planned to run for office. I come from dairy farmers and paper mill workers — not a political dynasty.

I was a young mom when I entered medical school at the University of Wisconsin. By the time I graduated with my M.D. and a masters in public health, I had 4 kids under the age of 10.

I simply wanted to be the best doctor for my patients and the best mom to my sons. And that's what I did, without much fuss, for nearly years.

But when politicians started butting into my exam room, demanding I provide less than care I was trained to give, I couldn't remain quiet.

So that's why I threw my hat into the ring — because just like I've fought for my patients, I'm ready to fight for the families of WI-08.

It's an honor that any of my fellow citizens trust me to deliver for them.

Now, we just have to make the case to the folks who are still undecided. With just 14 days left, that's not much time — can you pitch in $10 to make sure my message gets to every voter?
