We still need intelligence to help protect us from foreign threats. We needed it in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, and we need it even more today.

But now, the CIA serves its own interests…not those of the American people.

And so, it's no surprise that anyone in power who goes after the CIA is soon not in power.

You might remember when New York Senator Chuck Schumer told MSNBC, "Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you."

Whether or not Schumer meant to make such a revealing statement, it is further evidence that you and I live in a country in which powerful government agencies do not operate according to the consent of the governed.
