Dear Friends,

In normal times, my children and I look forward to Mother's Day to celebrate my mom and all of the moms in our family who show boundless and unconditional love each day.

However, these are extraordinary times and this Mother's Day, things look quite different. The strength of moms across our community is on display now more than ever.

The moms who can't be home with their families because they're giving us their all on the frontlines in hospitals, essential stores, post offices, newsrooms, and more.

The moms who are teaching our children or giving homeschooling their best shot while school buildings are closed.

The moms who continue serving our country overseas in the middle of a historic global pandemic.

My fellow moms in Congress who are helping workers, families and businesses during this crisis.

The moms who are trying to figure out how their small business is going to withstand this economic uncertainty.

As well as the aunts, daughters, bonus-moms, grandmas, neighbors, and all the mother figures who are stepping up to keep their families and communities together in these difficult times.

It is the selfless determination of these women that keeps us going, even when the challenges seem insurmountable. While we're not able to be together right now, I hope you join me in celebrating the moms in your lives and thanking them for all they do. They will help see us through.

From mine to yours, Happy Mother's Day!

Lori
