john,
I wanted to take a moment to explain why I first decided to enter politics, and why I'm still committed to fighting for Washington's families. This is a longer email than usual, so if you don't have time to read it at length at this moment, you can go ahead and make a donation to my campaign here. >> [link removed]
In 2017, Congressional Republicans announced their plan to overturn the Affordable Care Act (ACA). As a pediatrician, I saw firsthand the danger this would pose to my patients and families across America. I joined three other doctors from my clinic to fight back. We went to our congressman's office to explain how the ACA protected the people of Washington's 8th District – and why it was critical to keep it intact.
Then, two days later, he voted to overturn the ACA. I knew right then and there that it was time for me to take serious action.
I realized I could do more for the children and families of this district from a seat in Congress than I ever could from my exam room. So, I made the difficult decision to leave the job I loved and run for office.
Thanks to the incredible support of this grassroots team, we flipped WA-08 blue for the first time ever in 2018, knocking out that same representative who ignored the very concerns I had raised to him just one year prior. And we went on to keep it blue in 2020 and 2022. Since then, I've been fighting to give working families a voice in Congress.
Together, we've made some incredible progress. I have had 18 pieces of legislation signed into law under two presidential administrations – all addressing the concerns the people of Washington's 8th District have brought up directly to me. We're doing things differently now in this district, and I refuse to have us go back to a time when our leaders served their party, rather than the people in the district.
As your congresswoman, I will never stop fighting for accessible, affordable healthcare for every person in this district. I will continue to ensure our farmers and distributors have the resources they need to thrive. And I will always fight my heart out to help anyone in need.
But now, I need your help to keep up this fight. We're facing another tough election in just 14 days, and we have to give it everything we've got to come out on top. Will you chip in $10 right now to help me defend WA-08 and take back the House majority? I'm not done fighting for each and every one of you, john.

Thanks so much,
Dr. Kim Schrier
Rep. Kim Schrier is a doctor, scientist, and mom, fighting for Washington's 8th District in Congress. This is one of the most competitive districts in the country, so we need your help to keep Kim in Congress. Chip in now to help protect Kim's seat this November and take back the House.
