Dear John,
We’re less than three weeks out from the November 5th election. While many of us are inundated with texts, calls, and emails, the reality is, some of us get almost NOTHING.
It’s a consistent flaw in our political system: consistent voters get bombarded with information, while other voters hear very little. It’s a cycle that perpetuates underrepresentation and leads to harmful narratives that some of us aren’t “worth” investing in because our voting history is less consistent. It’s another form of voter suppression.
The good news: it’s really easy to break the cycle when we choose to.
We’re living out this value at TakeAction by reaching those of us who – because of our zip code, race, age, or voting history – haven't gotten the investment that we deserve. Since 2018, TakeAction has published a Busy Voter’s Guide because we know no matter our race, age, zip code, or how much money we make, Minnesotans care about our communities – and easy-to-use voting information goes a long way.
Here’s how you can help make sure all Minnesotans who are eligible get a chance to flex our voting power:
1️⃣ Be ready yourself: Find your early voting location and review your registration with our Busy Voter’s Guide.
2️⃣ Choose your candidates: Check out our endorsements. We’ve endorsed in races across the state, including several School Board races.
3️⃣ Share the love: Send our Busy Voter’s Guide and School Board Guide to your people, and ask them about their voting plan.
Let's flex our voting power together to protect a functioning democracy and set the stage for year-round organizing that delivers wins for our people.
This is the perfect moment to make your voting plan.
Onward,
Sabrina Mauritz (she/her)
Political Director
