*MEDIA ADVISORY: Governor Mark Gordon will Join BigFoot99 Radio Host Jim O’Reilly tomorrow to discuss Rock Springs RMP*

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon will join BigFoot99 Radio Host Jim O’Reilly to discuss the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rock Springs Resources Management Plan (RMP) tomorrow, *Oct. 23 from 8:05 - 8:20 a.m*.

The RMP has implications for any person who has an interest in public land use managed within Southwest Wyoming over the next 20 years. The BLM manages 3.6 million acres in the Rock Springs area.

Governor Gordon will release his submitted Consistency Review of the RMP on Wednesday, October 23, which includes a final appeal outlining opposition to how the BLM conducted the entire process. The Governor will discuss why the BLM must respect valid and existing leases and the ability to develop leases already obtained.  The Governor has also expressed concern that the BLM failed to review updated county land use plans for all five counties in the area.

“We still anticipate a record of decision (ROD) from the BLM before the end of the year. We will be watching the language of that final decision extremely closely to determine our next steps,” said Michael Pearlman, Communications Director for Governor Gordon.

Tomorrow’s interview can be heard live here [ [link removed] ]. Other areas of concern may also be addressed during the interview.
