In just a moment, I am going to ask you — humbly — to make a contribution to my campaign for U.S. Senate. We have two weeks to go until Election Day, and I’d really appreciate the chance to explain why this request — especially today — is so critically important.

Here’s the truth:

Over the last month, my campaign has seen a fundraising slowdown worse than any we’ve had in the entire race. To be completely honest with you, we budgeted the exact opposite. And over the last few weeks we’ve had to make cut after cut to that budget to try and cobble together a new plan that can win.

Right now, there’s nothing left to cut. We have two weeks of media buys to pay for — the most important two weeks of the entire campaign. And if we don’t raise what we need now, we will be forced to give up the airwaves and let Kari Lake and the outside groups backing her up run their attacks on me unopposed.

What matters most right now is that we do whatever we can to fund a campaign that can win. That’s the most important thing. Winning this race. Not just for the sake of winning, but because of what it would mean to substitute my vote with Kari Lake’s in the Senate.

That’s a reality I don’t think any of us want to consider, but it’s what will happen if we continue to come up short.
