Tickers are going fast for The America Sheriff Dinner honoring the outstanding work of Sheriff Bill E. Waybourn of Tarrant County, Texas.
Special remarks will be provided by Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, a member of Claremont's inaugural Sheriffs Fellowship in 2021 and the first recipient of The Claremont Institute’s American Sheriff Award in 2022.
Sheriff Bill E. Waybourn serves as the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of Tarrant County, Texas, taking office in 2017.
He previously served in the U.S. Air Force before joining Dalworthington Gardens Police Department, where he would go on to serve 31 years as Chief.
As Sheriff, Bill created the Human Trafficking Division and the Intelligence Division, which have been paramount in protecting the residents of Tarrant County and have saved many lives throughout the State of Texas, and across the country. He has also testified before the state legislature on an array of issues relating to the Second Amendment.
Sheriff Waybourn has built relationships throughout his community, with local pastors and community leaders, and was proud to create the first annual Christmas for Children of the Incarcerated in 2019, a program that provided Christmas presents for over 800 children whose parents had been incarcerated. He has worked every day in office to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community while never losing sight of the mission to stand between evil and good.
NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT
I’m delighted to invite you to join our new class of Sheriffs Fellows at our American Sheriffs Dinner.
I hope that, as a valued supporter and friend, you will be able to join us for this special evening as we honor Sheriff Bill E. Waybourn.
You understand the critical role The Claremont Institute and its fellowships play in educating the Right’s up-and-coming leaders and thinkers on the principles of the American Founding and their application to America’s ongoing crisis.
The newest of these programs, the Sheriffs Fellowship, could hardly be more timely or important for protecting our nation’s freedoms and the rule of law.
As in our other fellowships, the Sheriffs Fellows receive training of unparalleled depth and excellence in American political thought and institutions from the country’s top constitutional experts and political theorists.
