Yesterday, the lifesaving continued. Another Hurricane Helene emergency rescue van returned to PAWS Chicago filled with homeless puppies, each one vulnerable, affectionate, and pleading. This time they came from the mountain communities surrounding Asheville, North Carolina, which was devastated by the hurricane’s flooding. Several were already sick and would not have survived without the care we can provide.
While many of these pets were already in shelters before the storm, families who have lost everything are now surrendering their pets too rather than make them suffer without food, medical care, or even an adequate place to sleep.

Included in the van were nine animals, the Spice Puppies, who came from a rescue in Asheville that's overcrowded and hurting. Electricity was only just restored. It might be three months before they have running water; for now, it's being trucked in.

That's why your help today is crucial. Your donation will support these young animals and provide care for the hundreds of others already at PAWS.

Your donations make such a difference. Twelve days ago, PAWS rescued dogs and puppies from the chaos and devastation Hurricane Helene inflicted in Tennessee. Half of those pets are already happy and healthy in their new homes!
Nova. Astro. Tangerine. Clementine. Over and over pets whose lives were in grave danger just days ago are basking in sunbeams today. It's all thanks to the passionate volunteers who made the rescue journey, and the hundreds of generous donors who stepped up to help support this essential rescue work.
With your help, the Spice Puppies and all the others will soon have families too. Please, help make that day a reality.
