The election is now 14 days away, and Donald Trump and his backers are becoming ever more desperate and extreme in their efforts to regain power at all costs.

Right-wing lawyers are already filing lawsuits aimed at challenging the election if Trump doesn’t win. GOP voter suppression efforts are more aggressive than ever. Billionaire Elon Musk has poured over $75 million into his pro-Trump super PAC while turning his social media megaphone, X, into a sewer of conspiracy theories and election disinformation.

Meanwhile, Trump is threatening to hunt down and jail political opponents if he wins and foment social chaos if he (once again) loses.

This is a five-alarm fire, but the corporate media is still treating this as a normal election, obsessing over the horse-race and glossing over the existential threat to democracy and our collective futures.
