Last summer, NYPD officers found a scared, starved and dehydrated Boxer-mix abandoned in deplorable conditions. Beatrice, as she was later named, was immediately rushed to a veterinary partner who took emergency action to save her life before transferring her to the ASPCA.


Upon intake, Beatrice was dangerously emaciated. Her ribs, backbone and pelvis were clearly visible, even from a distance. One thing was certain: no animal deserves to endure the cruelty Beatrice had.
