Last week, Fox News held a town hall with Donald Trump supposedly focused on women’s issues. When talking about reproductive rights and his own successful efforts to overturn Roe, Trump called himself “the father of IVF.”
I wish I was joking, David, but that is truly what he said.
He went on to lie that the Republican party is “the party for IVF” and that they “want fertilization.”
I don’t think I have to explain to you that Trump’s statements are downright creepy. But they’re also flat out wrong.
Donald Trump is why IVF access is under threat. Period.
If Donald Trump wanted to protect IVF access, he could have encouraged my Republican Senate colleagues to vote for my Right to IVF Act that would ensure access to it last month. Or in June.
But he didn’t—and those same Republicans who love to say they support IVF didn’t vote for it either. They actually blocked it.
Donald Trump can call himself the “father of IVF” all he wants, but we know the truth. Trump and his MAGA puppets are actively working to dismantle access to IVF. They don’t care about women and families.
Reproductive rights are on the ballot this November, and we must defend our Democratic Senate majority and keep Donald Trump out of the White House to preserve these rights.
Will you please make a contribution to my campaign to help fuel my efforts to maintain the Senate majority and support the Harris-Walz ticket?
