Housing Violations in NYC Jumped 24% This Year. We Mapped Them By Neighborhood.
Hot spots for violations tend to have higher rates of poverty, more people of color, and older housing stock. Bronx Community District 4, which includes neighborhoods like Mount Eden, Highbridge and Concourse Village, had over 50,000 violations in the past fiscal year, including 18,000 still open. Just three Northwest Bronx community districts made up 14 percent of all violations issued citywide in the past year.
