Two weeks ago, Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato presented the County Council with her proposed 2025 budget, which includes a property tax increase. After some councilors called the proposal “dead on arrival,” Innamorato challenged them to present alternatives.

Also, the county gave an update on its plans for winter homeless shelters, which includes reopening Second Avenue Commons after a summer fire closed it for months.
