*We Must Bring Drug
Manufacturing Back to America, Reduce Dependency on China*

What's New:*

On Monday, I announced that I am pushing
legislation to end the United States' reliance on China for drug and medical
equipment manufacturing and bring those jobs back to the United States
as part of my ongoing efforts to hold China accountable for its cover
up and role in the COVID-19 outbreak.

For more information on my
legislation, click HERE [link 1]*.

*Why It Matters:*

It was *reported
[link 2] *by U.S. intelligence over last weekend that China covered up
the extent of the Coronavirus outbreak and hoarded critical medical
supplies.

America cannot continue to rely on foreign countries like China
to manufacture our personal protective equipment and critical drugs.

China's lack of transparency and cover up of the virus made this
global pandemic much worse--it costs lives and devastated our booming
economy. The coronavirus has made it clear that we must bring drug
manufacturing and medical equipment jobs back to the United States and
strengthen our capacity to respond to future pandemics like we're in
today.

What's Next:*

Just *two weeks ago [link 3] *I visited the
University of Montana where I announced $2.5 million would be directed to the
university to begin work on a developing a Montana made COVID-19
vaccine.

I also *helped to secure [link 4]* $10 billion in funding to
accelerate American drug development and manufacturing to treat and prevent
the Coronavirus.

Last month, I sent letters to *President Trump
[link 5]* and *Secretary of State Mike Pompeo [link 6]* urging them to
hold China accountable, support American manufacturing and investigate
China's response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Additionally, just this
week I helped introduce *legislation [link 7]* that would authorize the
president to sanction foreign officials who suppress or distort
information about international public health crises, including China for the
cover up of the pandemic.

I will continue pushing to hold China
accountable for its role in the COVID-19 pandemic and promote *Made in
America* drug manufacturing.

Best Wishes,
