The upcoming election on November 5th could be the most pivotal in our
lifetime. We will not resign to pessimism or cynicism. I am committed to
doing everything I can to support GOTV efforts in critical swing states,
which is why this weekend we were in Pennsylvania!

On Friday, we went to Penn State in State College for a rally. I was
amazed with the turn out, we had a sold out crowd with over 300 people in
overflow! The rally was electric.

On Saturday, I kicked off a bilingual canvass in Allentown, where over a
thousand people showed up to knock doors. We then held a rally with fellow
Reps. Chrissy Houlahan, Madeleine Dean, and Nydia Velázquez.

On Sunday, we went to Philadelphia for two canvass launches, a rally with
United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain, and SEIU 32BJ.

Being an American is not about who we’re afraid of. It’s about being
courageous. And it’s about standing up and courageously demanding what the
direction is for a better country.

I am going to call a spade a spade, Kamala Harris will be the first woman
president of the United States. She is a Black woman who will be a
powerful leader for this country. And she comes from a middle-class and
working-class background.

But as we know, if you come from a working-class background, you’ve got to
work twice as hard to get half as far. She needs to work, and we need to
work a hundred times as hard to pull this out.

Now more than ever, it is crucial that our party and country swiftly unite
to defeat Donald Trump and the threat to American democracy.
