Dear friend,
Since launching my child care platform, we’ve heard from parents across New York City about the desperate need for change—now. Families are struggling to find affordable, reliable care, and they’re telling us what we already know: the system is broken.
As a mother of two, I’ve lived this struggle myself. Like so many New Yorkers, I’ve had to juggle work, family, and the constant search for quality child care. But it doesn’t have to be this way, and together, we can fix it.

Child care is a lifeline for working families, and it’s the foundation for a stronger, more equitable city. Right now, too many families are being left behind, and our child care workers—many of whom are women of color—are paid poverty wages for the critical work they do.
|
Since launching our plan, we’ve heard the same urgent message from families in every borough: we can’t wait.
Here’s how we change it:
-
Streamline Access to Care: Simplify the process so every family can easily access high-quality care, no matter their income or neighborhood.
-
Invest in Caregivers: Child care workers are essential to our city. It’s time they’re paid a living wage and given the respect they deserve.
-
Expand Public Child Care Options: Open more centers, make use of underutilized public spaces, and ensure care is available when working families need it most—including nights and weekends.
New York’s future depends on how we care for its youngest residents. Every parent deserves the peace of mind that comes with knowing their children are safe and learning, and every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. But we can only make this vision a reality with your support.
If you believe in building a New York where every family has access to affordable child care, and every caregiver is valued, I’m asking you to stand with me.
As a New York City resident, your contribution will be matched 8:1 through the city’s public financing program. That means a small donation goes a long way:

The need for change is urgent. Fight like a mother with me to make this vision a reality.
With love and solidarity,
Jessica Ramos
