Remember when the American Dream was affordable under President Trump?

His effective leadership and successful policies created a booming economy where all Americans could thrive. Inflation was at near-historic lows, real average weekly wages rose by more than 8%, job growth soared, and businesses flourished throughout the country.

Unfortunately, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris destroyed the strong economy they inherited.

One of the most powerful ways the American people have felt the Biden-Harris Administration's failure is through inflation. When President Trump left office, inflation was just 1.4%. Since then, overall prices have increased by a whopping 20.5%.

For nearly four years, we’ve seen prices skyrocket across the board:

🥚 Eggs are UP 69.2%

🍼  Baby food and formula are UP 31%  

⛽ Gasoline is UP 38.4%

🐔 Chicken is UP 25%

🚘 Car insurance is UP 56.5%

✈️ Airline fares are UP 24.5%

These price hikes continue to crush workers, families, and small businesses. Meanwhile, real wages remain lower than when Biden and Harris took office.

From the gas pump to the grocery store, Americans continue to feel the consequences of the Biden-Harris Administration’s runaway spending and failed economic policies. In fact, the average Georgian household is paying $1,078 more per month to keep up with high costs. Cumulatively, families in the Peach State have been forced to spend over $29,500 more due to inflation since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris stepped foot in the White House.

It’s no wonder nearly 50% of Americans consider themselves broke and two-thirds feel they are living paycheck to paycheck.

Folks, we cannot afford four more years of this insanity.

Undoubtedly, Kamala Harris will only make things worse. Her economic agenda, which includes everything from Soviet-style price controls to tax hikes for both large corporations and small businesses, will simply fuel the inflationary fire.

Now more than ever, we must return to President Trump’s pro-growth economic agenda that delivered opportunity and prosperity for all Americans.

💸 An Economy That’s Strong

• H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act: This critical bill unleashes American energy and lower costs for families by increasing domestic production, reforming the permitting process for all industries, reversing the Biden-Harris Administration’s anti-energy policies, streamlining energy infrastructure, and boosting production and processing of critical minerals.
• H.R. 347, REIN IN Inflation Act: This legislation requires the White House to publish the inflationary impact of executive actions before enacting them.
• H.R. 4468, the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales (CARS) Act: This bill, which I proudly co-led, blocks the Biden-Harris Administration’s burdensome electric vehicle mandate.

🔒 A Nation That’s Safe

• H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act: Our comprehensive legislation focuses on securing the border and combating illegal migration. From forcing the Biden-Harris Administration to restart construction of President Trump’s border wall to ending catch and release, House Republicans’ H.R. 2 advances immigration policies that are vital to curbing the flow of illegal aliens and putting the American people first.
• H.R. 7511, the Laken Riley Act: In honor of Laken Riley, the 22-year-old nursing student who was horrifically murdered by a criminal illegal alien in Athens, GA, House Republicans’ H.R. 7511 requires ICE to detain illegal aliens charged with local theft or burglary offenses. Additionally, the Laken Riley Act condemns the Biden-Harris Administration’s open border policies and allows state Attorneys General to sue the Secretary of Homeland Security for injunctive relief if immigration actions harm that state or its citizens. 
• H.R. 6046, the Standing Against Houthi Aggression Act: My critical legislation, which passed the House with bipartisan support, bolsters our national security by redesignating the Iran-backed Houthis as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and reinstating the Trump Administration’s sanctions on the group. As you may know, the Houthis — along with Hamas and Hezbollah — have attacked U.S. troops and our greatest ally in the Middle East, Israel.

🗽 A Future That’s Built on Freedom

• H.R. 5, the Parents Bill of Rights: This legislation empowers parents by placing concrete legal protections that will ensure parents remain the primary stakeholders in their children’s education. 
• H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act: In response to the Left’s bizarre and dangerous obsession with allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports, House Republicans’ H.R. 734 ensures only females compete against other females in women’s athletics. 
• H.R. 8838, the Free Speech Defense Act: My legislation eliminates government-by-proxy censorship — protecting both Americans’ free speech and America’s free elections.

⚖️ A Government That’s Accountable 

• H.Res. 863: After willfully failing to uphold the law for more than three years and repeatedly lying under oath to Congress, House Republicans impeached Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas for his illegal and unconstitutional actions. Notably, Mayorkas is the first Cabinet secretary to be impeached since 1876 and only the second in U.S. history.
• H.R. 497, the Freedom for Health Care Workers Act: In a major win for medical freedom and individual liberty, House Republicans’ H.R. 497 eliminates draconian COVID-19 vaccine mandate on health care workers. 
• H.J.Res. 44: My Congressional Review Act (CRA) joint resolution of disapproval, which passed the House with bipartisan support, strikes down the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) unconstitutional pistol brace rule.

The Clayton Tribune | Tallulah Falls School students serve the community

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, I have been greatly moved by the kindness and generosity pouring out from communities across the Ninth District. Good deeds that did not go unnoticed include the incredible work of Tallulah Falls School (TFS) students. Earlier this month, a group of TFS fifth graders teamed up with Get Real Ministries to help clean up debris left behind by Helene. Additionally, students assisted in transporting essential supplies to be flown to folks in Western North Carolina. I commend these students for their commitment to care for others in need.

This week, I’ll continue talking with concerned constituents, visiting businesses to learn more about their operations, and meeting with local leaders to discuss ways we can work together to best serve you and your family.
