Maryland’s Senate race is among the most competitive races in the entire country this year. In fact, a new report from The Baltimore Sun shows that this race will remain razor-close until Election Day. The reason for this is simple: we’re not getting sucked into the partisan bickering, we’re running a campaign for ALL Marylanders.
Despite Democrats outnumbering Republicans in party registration and despite Kamala Harris holding a double-digit lead over Donald Trump in the presidential race, we have a real chance to win this Senate race in less than 19 days.
I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating: This isn’t about red versus blue. It’s about red, white, and blue–and we’re cutting through the noise to spread this message to Marylanders in every corner of the state.
I’m currently traveling throughout Maryland on my People Over Politics Bus Tour. I’ll be on the bus and making stops through Election Day, having conversations with Marylanders, and working to earn every single vote.
But my opponent also sees the polls and reporting showing a close race. As a result, she’s getting support from out-of-state donors, super PACs, and big-name politicians. They’ve flooded our state with millions of dollars and consumed the airwaves with negative ads lying about my record.
Now, I’m in danger of falling critically behind in fundraising. My opponent’s fundraising numbers for last quarter were just released, and they show that I was outraised by more than $10,000,000. I’ve been the underdog before, but this is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
With time running out and my race razor-close, my campaign needs resources to close the gap and make this final stretch the strongest possible.
The bottom line:This is the most expensive race I’ve ever run. Now is the time to work as hard as possible, and I urgently need your support to come out on top.
Every dollar we raise can make or break the outcome of this race.
Your immediate contribution will directly support our and strengthen our campaign efforts so we can put more ads on the air, reach more Marylanders, and fully activate our get out the vote efforts.
When I launched my campaign for the U.S. Senate, I did so with a deep resolve to maintain the leadership style and principles that guided me during my eight years as governor.
Fifty years ago, my father, Maryland Congressman Larry Hogan Sr. made a tough decision. He became the first Republican to come out for the impeachment of President Nixon. He put aside party politics and his own personal considerations and stepped up to do the right thing for Maryland and the nation.
Today, Washington is completely broken because that kind of leadership and willingness to put country over party has become far too rare. But it’s not in my nature to sit back and watch the dysfunction continue without doing what I can to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
I’m under no illusion this will be an easy road. But I’m no stranger to uphill battles, and I know I can’t do it without your support.
I don't aspire to be a United States senator. I don’t need a title and I don’t need a job, but I’m more concerned than ever about the direction of the country and I have become more convinced that I can make a difference by taking the approach and style of leadership I had during my eight years as governor to Washington.
It’s no surprise this mindset has made me a target of the Washington partisans. Despite early polls showing a lead, I know I’m the underdog in this race. And that’s why your support TODAY is so crucial.
For eight years, we proved that the toxic politics that divide our nation didn’t need to divide our state, and we got results! Let’s get back to work again and send a message to Washington that will be heard loud and clear across the country!
