Hi team, it’s Colleen Ferguson, Bob’s wife.
I usually don’t send campaign emails, but I am reaching out personally because Washingtonians are now voting. You know Bob as our Attorney General and candidate for Governor. I want to share a more personal perspective on Bob and why he’s the right choice to lead our state forward.
We’ve been together since his first campaign. We were dating when Bob challenged a 20-year incumbent on the King County Council. Trust me – no one thought he could win that race. But I watched him knock on doors every day for eight months so he could take his campaign directly to voters. In fact, he and I often went doorbelling together. He would tease me and call them our “doorbelling dates.”
We’ve come a long way since the kickoff party for that first campaign where I was overdressed for a grassroots event! And he still wears the tie I gave him during that campaign to big events (you’ll probably see it on Election Day!).
You know that Bob is very focused on public service and has a relentless energy. You may not know that he doesn’t think much about material items – money, clothes, cars, etc. It’s impossible to get Bob to go shopping for anything and that includes cars: he still drives our 20-year-old Subaru.
I love how involved Bob is with our twins Jack and Katie. As I write this email, Bob is driving the carpool for Katie and two of her teammates to their fastpitch softball practice. In the summer, he goes on long hikes and climbs with Jack. Every Wednesday night he drives Katie to her pitching lesson, puts on his catcher's gear and does his best to catch her curve balls. Bob always puts family first.
I’ll end this message with this: Bob can win this race, but only if he has your support. He doesn’t accept donations from large corporations or corporate PACs so he needs the support of individuals like you. Please, make a donation right now if you can.
