The day Donald Trump’s Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade was devastating and heartbreaking — for me, and for countless Americans across the country.

Because of the actions of Donald Trump and the Supreme Court justices he appointed, millions of women in this country now live in states with total abortion bans. And the consequences have been unfathomable:

Pregnant women with cancer have been forced to delay treatment because it could harm their fetus. Women with miscarriages have been denied abortions at grave risk to their health. Young girls have had to travel across state lines in order to end a pregnancy that was the product of rape or incest.

Women deserve better than this. That’s why I’m fighting every day to end this suffering and reinstate the protections of Roe nationwide.

The decision when and where to start a family is deeply personal. It is one of the most important decisions we make in our lives — and no politician has the right to make that decision for us.

Nobody, no matter what state they live in, should be denied access to abortion care. Women should never be forced to drive all night, to the point of exhaustion, to come to Colorado or any other pro-choice state just because their state’s politicians have decided to ban the health care they need.

When I served in the Colorado State Legislature, I led the fight to pass legislation that codified the protections of Roe in our state. Thanks to that bill, reproductive freedom is protected in Colorado.

But if Donald Trump and his Republican allies successfully enact a nationwide abortion ban, those protections will go away. Under Trump’s Project 2025, Colorado women would no longer have the right to access medication abortion.

That’s why it is absolutely critical that our country elects a pro-choice majority in Congress on November 5th — and that starts with winning right here in Colorado’s 7th district.

While far-right Republicans continue to launch attack after attack on our fundamental right to choose, I will never back down from my fight to protect abortion access, IVF access, and contraception access. No matter what smears the anti-choice politicians throw at me, I’ll keep working to reinstate the protections of Roe in all 50 states. The health and wellbeing of millions of women depends on it.

If you’re with me, I’d be extremely grateful to have your support. We can’t allow anti-choice extremists to control Congress for two more years.
