Hi John — we just got our hands on a very, very concerning poll.

This new poll is out of California’s 49th district, represented by Democratic Rep. Mike Levin. It shows Rep. Levin up only ONE POINT over his Republican opponent.

With control of the U.S. House coming down to seats in California, we need to flip red seats blue—not risk having a blue seat flip red.

This was not a district we were expecting to play defense in, and now we need to quickly expand our budget to ensure Republicans can’t snatch this critical seat.

Will you rush a donation right now to our Rapid Response Fund? We’re aiming to raise $10,000 in a special fund to rush donations to CA-49 and other blue seats that we must protect for Democrats to have any hope of retaking the U.S. House.

Here’s the full state of play in the battle to control the House of Representatives:

(1) Media outlets are finally reporting what we’ve known all year: Control of the U.S. House is going to come down to tossup seats in California.

(2) New polling shows Democrats taking the lead in some of the “must-win” swing districts that we need to flip red.

(3) But now a new poll has Republicans gaining momentum in a key blue district, and we need to be ready to respond.

Overall, we are still incredibly optimistic about our ability to flip seats blue in California and retake the U.S. House. But we cannot be complacent, and we must be ready to respond to any Republican momentum in our vulnerable blue districts.
