Dear John,
What happens the day after the election will depend on us — on what we do now to turn out and vote, and how we prepare to navigate an uncertain future. Alliance San Diego is working on both, bringing energy and joy to our democracy. Through door-to-door, phone, and text canvassing we’ve reached close to 100,000 voters, focusing on people of color and people of conscience who will be people of consequence when we vote!
We’re also meeting voters where they’re at on social media, sharing fun content like our original Eating Up the Ballot video series, co-hosting a statewide Art Contest to inspire young voters (deadline for submissions is tomorrow, October 22), and sharing election information in English and Spanish from our website including ways to vote, where to vote, and a nonpartisan Voter Guide on the state ballot measures. Here’s a snapshot of the state measures that we voters decide directly.

At the same time that we’re helping voters participate in this election, we’re preparing for the day after. While we may not know the outcome of the presidential race, we know the election results will be challenged, and the headlines will read, “A Democracy in Crisis.” We also know that California will be in the spotlight because of our fearlessness in forging a future for all. Regionally, Alliance San Diego is leading the charge to build an inclusive multiracial democracy where everyone belongs and everyone’s dignity is recognized and protected.
