For over a year now, Movement School — Justice Democrats' sister organization — has been training organizers to lead political campaigns to victory all across the country. But this pandemic has sharply limited traditional campaign tactics and created whole new challenges for organizers. Progressive campaigns are struggling to adjust to the new normal — and yet we still have elections to win!

Movement School is responding. Building off the digital infrastructure, learning methodologies, and national partner & mentor network of their Campaign Fellows program, I am excited to share the announcement of the launch of Movement School Campus.

Progressive electoral organizers can register for intensive 6-week certificate courses (see below) that will help campaigns adapt and thrive in this challenging time. The Campus will foster a community of practice to share and build with organizers across the country.

Spring 2020 certificate courses
Each certificate includes 6 training sessions (1 session per week for 6 six weeks) with simulation-based assignments, led by experienced organizers, on a range of key 2020 best practices.

What The Field: Distributed+Digital Strategies for 2020

• Completing this course, you will be able to implement an effective digital + distributed strategy to engage, persuade, and turn out voters to win your election — even if traditional field organizing remains impossible this year.

Progressive Messaging in the Crisis

• Completing this course, you will be able to create a powerful & disciplined crisis narrative around your campaign, in the press and on social media.

Grassroots Fundraising Tactics

• Completing this course, you will be able to run a successful crisis-resilient finance program for your down ballot grassroots campaign.

Vote Together, Win Together

• Completing this course, you will be able to develop and implement a holistic voter protection plan for your campaign, to ensure that voting rights in your district are protected against the coming right wing attacks.

Path to Victory in a Crisis

• Completing this course, you will be able to craft a brilliant Path to Victory analysis for your race — even against the deep uncertainty of our current crisis.

Digital Tools Workshop

• Completing this course, you will be able to make clear decisions about which digital tools to use on your campaign, and employ them effectively to help win your election.
