Beginning at 12 p.m. CT today, the Texas House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence will resume hearings about Texas’ junk science law and the new scientific evidence that proves Robert Roberson was convicted based on discredited scientific evidence and is innocent.

Robert was scheduled to be executed last Thursday despite new evidence of his innocence. The execution was halted by a subpoena issued by the committee. You can join the livestream at 12 p.m. CT (1 p.m. ET):

On Thursday, the Texas Supreme Court reinstated a temporary restraining order requested by Texas lawmakers to stop Robert's scheduled execution that evening. The restraining order allows the Committee to consider testimony from Robert Roberson as it continues to consider new evidence in his case and evaluate whether the "junk science" law in Texas was applied as intended by the lawmakers who drafted the bill.

A number of important witnesses will provide testimony today.
